Last weekend I finally managed to test out the famous Mad Hatter's Tea Party at the Sanderson Hotel in London. It has got to be, hands down, the most incredible afternoon tea experience you will find in the big city. It quite literally transports you to another world and back to your childhood. Based, of course, on the story of Alice in Wonderland, this is not your average afternoon tea.
With the delicious sandwiches and scones aside, this tea-time treat offers a mouth-watering Hazelnut Ice Cream Lollipop as well as a Blueberry Lollipop that strangely changes temperature depending on which side hits your tongue! The more indulgent desserts on the bottom layer include a Chocolate Clock Pastry, a heart-shaped Raspberry Mouse Shortcake, and an incredible pineapple and coconut based concoction in the cutest little bottle with a 'drink me' label.
To top the experience off, it was one of the hottest days London has seen this year which meant we got to sit in the Courtyard of the hotel. It was so relaxing, and the peace and quiet made it feel like a little haven away from the crazy bustle of the city. This is definitely one of my favourite afternoon tea spots in London, so if you're in the city you've gotta try it out!
